2. Self Breast Massage: How to do it

You’ll need massage oils, these are used to prevent friction and discomfort during the massage (It’s a good advice to avoid mineral-based oils or scented oils)

When applying the oil, its advisable to do so in a circular manner, moving from the center of the chest towards the under arm area, light pressure should be applied, very soft.

Step 1: Finger stroke

You can start with the nipple, use your fingers to make smooth slow strokes away from the nipples in all directions. This is the first step and shouldn’t be skipped.

Step 2: Hand massage

Make sure the breast is covered in oil, then gently knead it by lifting them with both hands from the chest, then press them delicately. It is also advisable that both hands with the thumbs above the nipples and the fore fingers below carefully twist the breast in clockwise and anticlockwise directions. Step 3: Compression

 
This is the last step of the process, the cooling down massage, smooth then stroke the breast with your fingertips beginning at the nipples and going around.

Doing this will cause the compression and encourage the lymph and other fluids to move out of the breast.

Do the same step for both breasts, when you’re done, drink lots of water to help flush the fluids off your system. At first, the massage may be painful, but after a few session, you’ll see the benefits and the pain will subside.
